DNA is definitely an amazing and complex machine driving so many things in all
organisms. The questions are : can we have an impact on our own DNA? Can we
use plant DNA as a tool to fight against climate change? Tonight we will
discuss diets, brain development, climate change and plant GMO's to understand
more about this amazing system.

Nature or nurture ?

Mohamad Ali Fawal (Post Doc - CNRS / CBD )
Tell me what you eat and I will tell you what you are”. Even though this statement was made in the 1826 by French author Brillat-Savarin, these words still holds true today. Nutrition is the way that we get fuel providing energy for our bodies. But what if nutrition can alter our DNA? With so many different diets, their impact on our DNA and brain development is at the center of our research.

GMOs: evil or not?

Ulla Dolde (Post Doc - CNRS UMR5546)
We are in a time where we are facing global warming. Climate change affects agriculture and as a consequence agriculture needs to change too. Can GMO plants be the solution and is it safe to consume GMO plants?
